Saturday, April 27th - Autism Awareness Family Fun Run and 5k 2013
Register to run or walk on Saturday, April 27th for our 3rd annual Family Fun Run and 5K.  The race will take place on the Cuthbertson School Campus.  Race day registration will begin at 7:30am or you can register online at  www.active.com/running/waxhaw-nc/autism-awareness-5k-and-fun-run-asnc-union-2013
Packet pick up will be on Tuesday at New York Bagel and Deil from 8-10am or at Mia Famiglia from 4-7pm.

What is AwareFare?  

AwareFare is our annual major fundraiser during which participating restaurants donate a portion of their proceeds from the day of the event to The Union County Chapter of the Autism Society of NC. 

Why we do AwareFare?  
To raise awareness about autism and provide support for local families.  The majority of the money raised from this event provides grants to educators who impact the lives of children on the autism spectrum in Union County.  A small portion of the proceeds support our monthly educational and support meetings, communications, and advocacy.

Past Events:
  • March 2013-Wesley Chapel 5k and Tot Trot benefiting ASNC-Union County.  Thank you to Kinetic Spine & Sports and Anytime Fitness of Wesley Chapel!!
  • January 2013 Preschool Conference 'Autism in the Preschool Classroom'
  • April 2012-13th annual AwareFare was held un Union County!  Thank you to all who showed support by visiting La Strada, Alice Jules Coffehouse, Sun Valley Cafe, Boswell's, The Coffee Table, Spru-Licious, McAlister's, La Vida Mocha, Fox's Pizza Den and Farleys Pizzeria.
  • March 2012-2nd Annual Autism Awareness Fun Run - the event was rained out, we are offering free registration to the 2013 Run for those that pre-registered for the 2012 Run. 
  • October 2011-Wesley Chapel held their 1st annual 5K and Tot Trot on October 1st and proceeds benefited the Union County Chapter of the Autism Society of NC! Thank you to Anytime Fitness and Kinetic Spine & Sport in Wesley Chapel for presenting this event!
  • April 2011-Thank you to everyone that participated in our first Autism Awareness Fun Run on Saturday, April 30th, 2011!  Also, thank you to Kristin Sharpe for all that you did to make this event a huge success!
  • April 2011-AwareFare was April 12th in Union County!  Thank you to all that ate out on the 12th and a special thanks to our participating restaurants and corporate sponsors:  LaStrada Pizza & Pasta in Wesley Chapel, Coffee Table in Wesley Chapel, Papa's Pizza to Go in Weddington, The Brown Derby in Monroe, Alice Jules Coffeehouse in Monroe, Bellacino's Pizza & Grinders in Stallings, and Gino's in Wingate!  All funds raised from this event go back into the community in the form of teacher grants and family scholarships. 
  • July 2010-Thank you to the Waxhaw Business Association for holding their second "Tossin' for a Cause" Cornhole Tournament to benefit the Union County Chapter of the Autism Society of NC!  The event was held on July 3rd, 2010 and raised over $900.00 for our chapter!!!  We used the funds for teacher grants and scholarships for camps or after school activites.
